Crodarom® Green Coffee

There are roughly 50 species of coffee tree known in the world. Compared with the Arabica species, robusta coffee is, as its name suggests, more robust and contains more caffeine. When it was introduced to Europe in the 17th century, coffee, referred to as ‘Wine from Arabia’, was first used for medicinal purposes, being recommended to fortify and stimulate body and mind. The red coffee beans are picked and then sun dried. Then, the husk is removed and the green coffee seeds are collected before being roasted. It preserves the caffeine and active molecule content of the seeds. The caffeine has energising and draining properties, but this green coffee has also astringent and antioxidant properties thanks to the polyphenols.
