This truffle, also called “white diamond” or “black gold”, hides a delicate white flesh in a dark brown skin.
White truffle is originated from the area between South-France and North-Italy.
Truffles are one of the earth's rarest delicacies. In the Roman world it was dedicated to Venus, goddess of love and its fragrance was a sort of "quintessence" that produced an ecstatic effect on the living being. Within the last centuries, the strong perfume and unusual taste of truffle deemed it a luxury product and sign of wealth and prestige.
Truffles are rich in amino acids, minerals and valuable sugar ingredients that have tonifying and
moisture-balancing effects.
Compared to other truffle species, Tuber aestivum is less strong in sulphur-like perfume which makes it more suitable for cosmetic applications.
