Phytexcell™ Guarana

Add to favourites
Guarana is common throughout Brazil. The guarana was already used during the Pre-Colombian period by several tribes indigenous to Amazonia. The name of the plant moreover comes from the Guaranis, Amerindians from Amazonia who consumed Guarana during periods of famine. Guarana seeds have the highest content of caffeine in comparison to coffee, tea, cocoa, cola and mate. Caffeine is a vegetable alkaloid which belongs to the purine chemicals. Caffeine penetrates the skin extremely well causing a local increase in the blood circulation. Other valuable active ingredients of guarana are tannins and saponins, resins, mucilage and starch. Cosmetically guarana seed extracts are used in the treatment of firming anti-cellulite products, undereye-gels and for slimming products. Its astringent properties make it an excellent addition to shampoos and conditioners for oily hair.
