Roses are cultivated in more than 8000 different varieties. They originate in Morocco, France and Turkey.
The rose is one of exceptions flowers of ‘Pays de Grasse’ (South of France). Between Grasse and perfume, this is a true story of love that lasts, since the first roses distilleries have emerged in the sixteenth century. The ancient Egyptians considered the rose to be a universal remedy.
Roses have been prized for many centuries and by every culture due to their cooling properties, for treating eye diseases, for burning psoriasis, inflamed skin and mucus membranes. Pharmaceutically roses are used in teas and cosmetically in bath preparations and in the perfume industry. Rose oil is also known in the food industry as a special ingredient of jams, cakes and vinegar.
Rosewater is an ideal ingredient to refresh and tonify the skin thanks to its essential oil content.
