This oily soluble extract is obtained from the flower of Hoya lacunosa, also called the Porcelain flower. The porcelain flower, as fragile and delicate as fine porcelain, comes from Asia. The pure white colour and delicate crystalline aspect of this flower reflects the light in an almost unreal way.
The petals, covered with a fine duvet that gives it a shiny and crystalline appearance, reveal a perfect star in the core that produces a very tasty and sweet edible nectar.
Numerous publications from Asia mention the hoya genus in traditional medecine, mainly for its anti-inflammatory use. Indeed, the leaves are applied as a cataplasm on wounds or burns and a decoction of the whole plant is used to treat skin irritations or insect bites because of its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and calming properties.
