Sclerotium rolfsii is a fungal pathogen which has a broad range of host. This filamentous fungus produces abundant white cottony aerial mycelium. Its fermentation provides scleroglucans, stable polysaccharide of glucose monomers (MM 5-6 million Daltons).
Amigum™ is a unique gelling agent with thickening properties that is stable in extreme physical-chemical conditions but also that has limiting interactions with other molecules thanks to its non-ionic molecules. Amigum™ increases viscosity of formulation, stabilises emulsions as well as suspensions, and its structure prevents aggregation and thus encouraging solubility. It has also demonstrated biological properties, bringing hydration and softness feeling to the skin. Amigum™ is also very useful in formulas containing actives which are known to be difficult to stabilise, such as, AHAs formulated with an acid pH, anionic, cationic and amphoteric molecules which usually break the viscosity of the gels, essential oils which can diphase the formula, mineral salts, masks with clays, gels with algae extracts, and products made with sea water or mineral waters, ethanol in slimming water-alcoholic gels.
