Native to the Pacific Islands, noni grows in rich volcanic soil along lava flows. This plant has been used for thousands of years throughout Polynesia and other tropical and subtropical regions of the world in many folk preparations. Noni is known as the « Aspirin of ancient times » due to its health-promoting qualities. Traditional island healers have been using Noni fruit in poultices for skin infections for over 2000 years. Over forty different remedies were identifed by different cultures. Noni contains mainly fruit acids and sugars and as well bioflavonoids and iridoids as aucubin, that gives moisturising, soothing and antibacterial properties.
