The cucumber grows in the wild in the Himalayan valleys, in the North of India and in Nepal as far as Southern China. It has been cultivated for more than 4000 years and today is cultivated throughout the planet for its reputedly fresh, perfumed taste and flavour. Historically, women have been covering their faces with fine slices of cucumber to moisturise and renew the sheen of their facial skin. Very rich in vitamin C, it is found in facial care products, moisturisers and anti-wrinkle creams.
